Inspired by timeless tabla phrases, passed down through generations, this workshop explores raqs sharqi technique and body language through ten unique compositions by renowned Brazilian darbuka player - Pedro Françolin, created specially for this class!

At this workshop we have 10 different tabla quotes to explore different tabla (darbuka) phrases - not rhythms.

Speakers:

In this workshop we will get creative together, turning movement into magic!! You will get the chance to learn how to create the choreography, from Aleksandra Kala - master of choreography - directly on the spot!

Please bring a USB stick with an oriental dance song that you like best, because we will choose a song from a random participant.

Introducing a new segment of our dance festival – Show & Learn!

This unique dance evening is designed to give dancers the opportunity to perform on stage, express themselves through dance and gain valuable feedback directly from instructors - on spot.

Instead of a traditional competition, we’re creating a space for growth, learning and support – with no categories, no scores, with just one rule: dance Arabic dance to Arabic music!

Dancing Farid El Attrache. One of the most famous singers, actors and musicians of the Egyptian Golden Era scenario and beyond!

In this class, discover his legendary legacy as you dance along to one of his unique compositions, refining your music and dance techniques through carefully crafted choreography.

Speakers:

In this workshop, Leila will give you various pieces of a beautiful puzzle, that you will be able to design according to your personal taste. In the example of one song, that will be divided into several parts, Leila will give you several combinations for each part. This will allow you to connect different pieces of the puzzle and be able to create multiple variations for the same music.

Esmeralda gather together all he experience in Arabic countries plus her "Body Language" studies to bring to you all simple yet efficient principles that are gonna help you solve the expression in your dance!

The topic is divided into 3 groups and we're gonna practice a total of 4 small/different combinations in order to put into action all the theories that will be delivered.

Get ready to laugh, cry and get into a storm of technique!

In her signature style, loved throughout the globe, Leila will guide you through some techniques and combinations, that will expand your dance vocabulary. You will see how you can use the same combinations in different songs and gain some solid ground for your future improvisations.

In this WS, we're gonna talk about the evolution of the Lebanese music industry, the names that changed it and the importance of culture and society togetherness in times of Political crises.

For our practice: sharp movements, proud posture and a very sassy attitude!

Participants of this WS are going to have a chance to performe it - with Esmeralda, at Closing party!
